Product Description
This authentically detailed replica is a reproduction of the actual filming prop built by Weta Workshop of New Zealand and used in the motion picture, THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY. United Cutlery, industry leader in fine movie reproductions, has meticulously recreated the prop using only the finest grade materials and craftsmanship. Close attention to detail was a top priority. The blade of Orcrist features a curved leaf shape on one side, and a straight edge on the other, a fitting design for a blade meant to cleave Orcs and Goblins. Adorning the pommel is an emblem of the heraldry of Ecthelion of the Fountain. The hilt is shaped from the tooth of a dragon. It is unknown if the tooth was acquired prior to the fifth battle of the First Age, or added to the sword with the inscription in the millennia after the Fall of Gondolin, most likely by the Dwarves of the North.
It's incredible. The design is awesome and looks so cool, just like the movie. Definitely worth it

Great Sword
This sword is not as it’s advertised, but most things look better than they’re advertised. The handle is actually more of a pale color and it’s extreme detailed. The blade is a dark silver which looks very cool and the inscriptions have a navy blue background. These things caught me by surprise at first, so I was a little disappointed, but now this is one of my favorite replicas. Every part of this sword is amazing to see up close: the shape of the blade, the detailed inscriptions, the pommel, and the dragon tooth handle looks and feels great!

Worthwhile
The sword quality and wall mounting equipment are fantastic. My only small issue is that the "dragon tooth" handle feels a bit plastic-y. But, seeing as I don't have any orcs or goblins near my home, I plan on keeping Orchrist on the wall for simple display. I got a great show piece that surprised me with a hobbit-worthy map of the Lonely Mountain on the back of the certificate of authenticity. Thanks, Bud K. Shipping was right on time too. Both thumbs up.

Classic
Orcrist is the flagship sword from The Hobbit and this replica does it justice. The blade and cross guard are literally a larger version of Sting with one edge, while the hilt is a dragon tooth. I love the way it was made to match Sting and if you own both swords, there's nothing quite like mounting them side by side. Well done, United.

perfect for DS
This sword is perfect for late night DS travel. It's sweeping blade cuts through posts, and is highly recommended by noted swordsmen such as Scipio, and Brewmaster. TxHannah found it hard to wield due to the weight, but she is much more deadly with a porcelain bowl anyway......

Thorin's sword
This is the first sword that I have ever purchased (I am 14 and had to save and work for it) and I thought this one should be this it. I am a big fan of all the movies and I love this sword!! The grip on it is fantastic. I don't know why some people complain about how they can "tell it is plastic". It seems fine to me! :) It will look nice on my wall. I love the blue highlight on it and it is a very good replica. When I save up again, I think I will add 'the foe hammer', and after that, Sting. To go in order of appearance of course, though Thorin picks up Glamdring first. I really like the runes in scripted in the sword and the overall quality. It is in a class of it's own! I urge you to but it!!!!!!!!!!

Orcrist
AMAZING! Beautiful piece of art. It is the second in my daughter's collection, who is 14 years old, but it is definitely a MANLY DWARF size and QUALITY piece. The balance is beautiful. The craftsmanship would make any elf proud to own it, let alone a Dwarf King. It is much more impressive than any picture makes it and the price is marvelous for what you get.

Outstanding!!!!
It's refreshing to see Orcrist in its' falchion styling, setting it apart from the other long/broadswords with distinction. As always, well done, both from United Cutlery and Bud K!!!

Awesome Gift!
What an amazing gift! I bought this sword for my husband for Christmas and he's like a kid again! He was so excited! Something hopefully we can pass down to our son some day since he's a Hobbit fan as well! Very happy!

The Goblin Cleaver!
Just got this in yesterday! Really great prop replica, it looks awesome on my wall and no doubt will get a lot of attention in my future mancave. Don't go swinging this around because the handle is acrylic resin, this is meant to be displayed only. UC really knocked this out of the park...looks great next to Sting and Glamdring!

Orcrist
This piece is awesome and completes my collection of Hobbit/LOTRs swords (including both Narsil and Anduril), knives and axes. I await the scabbard and hope it is as well done as Orcrist itself.

Orcrist
I just received Orcrist for my birthday, and I must say it is a gorgeous(and most welcome) addition to my collection.I am totally satisfied with every aspect of this sword. My other pieces include: Anduril, Sting, the Legolas Fighting Knives, and The One Ring(10k gold edition) "My Precious"! I would recommend this item to any serious collector and anyone just starting out to collect swords. I understand that the scabbard will be available very soon. Can't wait. Thanks, again!!!!

Welcome to the Collection
A welcome addition to the Tolkien collection. Excellent sword, one of United's best. I needed it to place it nest to Sting and Glamdring. One of the best.

Orcrist
Absolutely a very fine piece for your Middle Earth collection. I have ZERO complaints.

Orcrist
This is easily the coolest sword design from the LOTR-Hobbit series, a scimitar with a dragon's tooth for a handle. It is really beautiful and well made. You will not be dissapointed. Of course, like all of these swords, it has a false edge, but it looks sharp!

Sword of Thorin Oakenshield-Orcrist
I just recieved my Orcrist replica, and I have to say, it is absolutely gorgeoous. The elvish lettering engraved on the blade looks exactly like the text from Tolkien's works. It is tip heavy for a sword, but that is to be expected from a weapon of this style. The only complaints I have is that the blade arrived slightly scuffed from the packaging, which was easily remedied by a quick polish with a microfiber cloth, and that the prongs to attach it to the wall mount were missing from the order. However, BUDK's customer service was aware of the situation and had a fix ready to deliver.

Orcrist
I ordered Orcrist being a Lord Of The Rings and Hobbit lover. You will not be dissapointed with this sword. I love what UC and Weta did with it and how the brought the sword to life. Handle is slick if you hold on to it for a while. So be careful! Also, do not be like me and use Metal Glo to clean the whole sword! Metal Glo works on the blade itself but NEVER EVER put it on the Blue painted parts of the sword. As it will eat the paint off. I had that happen and Budk is returning it as i'm typing this out.

Goblin Cleaver
I Had previously ordered the one from The Noble Collection, i sent it back though because it wasnt an official replica, this one feel awesome in your hands, lightweight. the details, an everything are awesome. its beautiful on the wall, the only way i would be happier is if it had the sheath!

Orcist - looks great but will it "keal"? We will see
My son bought this for me for father's day. Awesome of him to do that of course. The sword looks great, feels great in the hand. I would have preferred it already had an edge, like Sting, but understand that with liability being what it is, not everyone would like a sharp sword hanging on their wall. Still as an amateur bladesmith myself I look forward to putting an edge on it. Might slash an orc water jug or melon possibly. My research indicates that this is a medium stainless steel. So it should take an edge well enough, although it probably will not perform as well as some of my higher end blades. Good enough for melons and invading felons though. As usual Budk is great. The sword shipped quickly and intact. My only complaint was they had the wrong sales tax rate but with that mess being a total cluster right now, I suppose that is more than understandable. Great company. Will buy again I am sure.

Mostly Happy
Sure... its not the $10,000 prop you can get directly from Weta but this is my 5th United Cutlery LOTR/Hobbit item and like the others, a very nice replica & a must have. Has a cool factor of 10. My only knock is that either, and I cant attest if rubbed it off when cleaning it or it wasn't there in the first place, but the paint on the inlay on the blade is non existent. I had to spend time meticulously adding it myself. Can't wait till the scabbard is released (May 2013) and look forward to see what else UC will come out with! The Black Arrow??
