Product Description
No ninja sword collection is complete without the addition of this brand new full-tang Fighting Ninja katana from Shinwa. This masterpiece features a 28-3/4" heat-tempered 1045 carbon steel blade that has been handmade and sharpened by artisan sword smiths. Details abound, including a cast iron tsuba and antique-finished zinc alloy habaki, menuki and pommel. The handle is encased in faux ray skin and wrapped with decorative cords, and a lacquered hardwood scabbard houses the blade in traditional style. Discreetly hidden in the end of the scabbard is a wooden breathing reed for when your mission calls for hiding underwater.
This is my 3rd shinwa sword. I got this one to actually use, and it fits the bill very well. Decently sharp out of both and all fittings are solid. Excellent scabbard and it comes with spare dowel in the bottom of the scabbard. Excellent job shinwa and thank you bud k!

Impressive
This is a very well put together full tang sword, especially considering the price range. It’s solid no rattling in or out of the nicely finished scabbard. It came on time, well oiled and pretty sharp. It’s a bit longer than “traditional” ninja swords. I’m pretty tall with long arms and pulling it from its scabbard while slung on my back is not happening. Not a complaint, the blade size is clearly listed and upon further research it seems most Shinwa blades are this length.

Amazing Sword!!!
This is exactly what I’ve been searching for! I’ve been on the search for a plain, tactical style katana for under $100.00 and this is perfect. The guard doesn’t have dragons or monkeys or anything overly decorative. It’s just plain and simple. The blade is black and plain. The sheath is black and plain except for one little yellow china writing. And it comes with a removable breathing tube for aquatic escapes. I highly recommend this sword!!!!!

Ninja sword
I just received my new swords, and I was truly amazed. My new weapons are really outstanding. They are not as sharp as I would have liked them to be. I will have to work on them to get them to the sharpness I would like to see. Overall I am satisfied with the quality of the swords. I am also a first time buyer from True Swords and I'm totally impressed with the way they have served me with my choices of weapons. Thank you True Swords for all your hard work in trying to please your customers.

Shinwa
This ninja sword is the traditional real deal!I love bladed weapons always have always will, this sword is awesome, don't let the price fool you into thinking that you get what you pay for, trust me you get a whole lot more than what you put in,solid from top to bottom and gorgeous, the only problem I have with it,it's not razor sharp like they say,but I solved that problem with a little time and skill,I love sharpening blades, and this was no exception, now I guarantee this is at the least a one pig sword, for those of you that know swords you know what that means.the hidden snorkel is cool but not practical.Remember ninja swords have a straight blade, katanas have a curved blade, this is the sword of the original assassin.NINJAS!

I'm impressed
shinwa does it again. This sword is beautiful straight from the box, and sharp!
on receiving this sword, I stood the shipping box on end balanced by leaning it against a laundry basket, no weight to hold it down.
One slice cut it clean through, factory edge, 4X4 cardboard shipping box, and a clean cut straight through.
I love Shinwa and BudK

When Aliens Attack
When the aliens come to take the planet stealth will be the key to winning the war. This sword will help win that war on a cheap budget. It is nicely made and will definitely remove the arm or head of a grey lurking on your premises.

Nice blade, wobbly guard.
So after owning this for around a month now with multiple uses I'm ready to give this guy a review. For those who don't feel like reading through details this sword is worth the price of $50, but if had been much higher (i.e. $80-$120) I can't say I would still recommend it.
Pros: The blade is quite sturdy for 1045 carbon steel, and lasted through targets that were way above what a 1045 sword should be used for. The edge out of the box, while not hair shaving sharp, was still a workable edge that could cut through targets (though sharpening it would take away the anodization, so do so at your own risk). The hilt was well wrapped, and has not loosened or warped at all. The tang is also solid, with no welds or fractures to speak of, which is a blessing for a sword in this price range.
Cons: Unfortuantely the sword I got had a loose guard right out of the box, though it did not loosen up any more than it already was even after cutting, so it's quite possible I may have just ended up with a lemon. The blade also does not at all in the scabbard. Even lifting the blade up by the hilt and not the scabbard will end in the scabbard falling away, revealing the blade, which can be quite dangerous depending on where the sword is and what's going on around it.
Conclusion: As stated above, for $50 I absolutely recommend getting this sword, be it for practice cutting, or as a economical ninjato. If it had been much higher ($80-$120) I would not have been able to recommend it so easily. Absolutely not on par with a $150 ninjato, but it gets the job done, and gets it done rather well.

Quality
This sword is great out of the box, it cut strait through 2 inch bamboo with a cut so clean that it felt like plastic. The only reason that i give it a star less is because the handle tends to wobble and come loose over time and mine came with holes drilled through the handle like they messed up on the menuki.

Okay for wall hanger
For the price of $39 it's a nice display piece but I'm not impressed with Shinwa and this will be the last sword I will buy of theirs. Edge rolled when I hit the card board box it came in, it's about as sharp as a butter knife and as heavy as a sledge hammer compared to other functional swords I have. I will stick to Musha and Musashi swords as they are of much better quality and are usually less expensive. Other reviews have to be exaggerated as to the sharpness and now I know why it is only $39.
