I've been collecting knives since I was 10 years old and this knife is one of the most beautiful I have had the pleasure of adding to my collection. It feels so good in my hand that I have a hard time putting it down.

Highlander Bowie
Wow, what an awesome Bowie Knife. This is my fourth big Hibbon knife. I just love all of them. Really solid and beefy. The blade design is aggressive. A terrifying, formidable weapon. Fit and finish is awesome, beautiful. Like all the other Hibbons I have. Super sharp, heavy duty, chopper. Other people have complained about the snap closure on the sheath, but this one works great.. Enthusiastically recommend to all. Get one!!!

Classy & Functional
I loved this knife and the wire handle is very comfortable and doesn't slip. I also fixed the sheath by carefully trimming about 3/8" off of the inside of the strap that holds the snap. This allows it to lay flatter and the snap works normally.

Great buy!!
I love it! I wanted a bowie that was big but not as big as a new age bowie of today. I have a few new age bowie's that really are small machetes. Anything 16 inch and above is truthfully a small machete. This is perfect size and is truly a beautiful looking knife. Great price too!

Classic
The truly beautiful knife. looks good, feels good, and it cuts beautifully. the only minor quibble is the wire wrapped handle is not very suitable for being out in the woods with, other than that, superb!

Highlander Bowie
I bought this as a gift for a cousin. He spent the rest of the night with it on his hip or in his hand just staring at it. He came back over the next day and was still wearing it. It's a fabulously crafted beast.

Wow factor
Out of the package is just awesome! This is the first Gil Hibben for me and I will not stop here. The knife is a good weight and was sharp out of the box. Have not had a chance too but I'm sure it can take some abuse camping and messing around the campfire. I love the polished look that the handle and guard have. Worth the $$. The only problem with mine is the button on the sheath does not reach around the snap closed...but who cares its an amazing Bowie!

A classic!!
I've had this Hibben fantasy blade for 20 yrs. and I love it as much now as then. The first runs had a silver wire wound grip instead of stainless but that aside it is still a beautiful knife. I quit counting the offers I've had for it over the years as I have no intention of parting with it. The look and feel is exceptional and the budk price is excellent.

I absolutely love this knife! The weight is perfect, seems to cling to my hand as a part of me. Everyone stares and asks to see it. Razor sharp, now i need the Damascus one

Highlander Bowie
This Knife puts all other knifes to shame...... It's well balanced perfect. It holds a great edge. The sheath is great quality. And the look when you wear it out anywhere, I get good comments about it. I bout a second one so I can have one on each side. I think everybody needs a few. Geo.

Hibben Quality
The Hibben Highlander Bowie that I received from BUDK is exactly what I have come to expect. It was exactly as described, a very high quality knife. Beautiful and very well made. The fit and finish were great. It is a strong knife that will perform as expected.

Gorgeous!
Well, I've waited nearly 20 years to own this knife...since Mickey Knox first sliced, diced, then threw this blade into cinema history in Natural Born Killers. Great look, heft, feel, and grip...very solid knife. Very easy to sharpen...It's replaced my Book of Eli knife as the centerpiece of my knife bookshelf case thingy. When I'm at home, I can't stop holding it and wanting to throw it through a window at someone!!! Great item all the way around!

Incredible Knife!
A beautiful knife overall. Heavy and extremely sharp out of the box. I'm currently using mine as my primary kitchen knife for slicing and I must say it performs flawlessly. I highly recommend it to everyone. It would make a great Mother's Day gift!

Very well made. Beautiful. Strong. Good sharp edge, just needs some fine tuning. Nice leather sheath. Beast of a knife. also it's 12 dollars cheaper here than on [3rd party company removed] and customer service is infinitely better here at Trueswords!! I love it. I will definitely be ordering another Gil Hibben knife from Trueswords: officially my new go-to site. <br />p.s. It's much bigger than I expected.

highlander bowie
great knife. bought it and loved it. great weight and size. has a good feel to it and is well made, the only downside is the sheath. due to opening it and closing it, it ripped right by the clasp. other than that its an awesome knife and i highly recommend it.

Highlander Bowie
This IS a fine piece of cutlery!! For the great BudK price, a "stainless steal"!! Could have used a better snap on the sheath, one that stays closed, but a minor detail all things considered. This really isn't a knife that you would carry around on a daily basis, (unless you live "Down under") Highlander recommended!!

Not just a Fantasy
This is great knife. Used originally in the Oliver Stone's natural born killer, it is indeed a killer. It has more self defense properties than you will believe. I agree with the first reviewer that it would be awesome to carry and makes me long for the days when REAL men could carry big knives on their hips without people batting an eye. It has an awesome feel, very solid, good pommel on the handle if used properly. The sheath should have a rope to tie around your thigh and it carries very well offside with the blade facing the front. The snap will pop out with a little force on the blade but it won't affect wear as it is snug and gravity will help keep it there. I've been waiting a decade for this knife to become reasonably priced, so thanks United Cutlery and Hibben for the great reproductions. Don't hesitate!

Gil Hibben/United Cutlery do it again!
Props to Gil Hibben and United Cutlery on this beautiful but very functional work of art. At first I wasn't sure what I thought of the wire wrapped look, but it actually feels great in the hand, not so smooth and shiny (even though it is) that it'll slip from your grip and it looks very cool. The blade is a perfect length for a bowie, it's got nice heft and I have no doubt it'll skin what you want to skin and then clean up nicely to hang on your side again. Can't comment on the longevity of the edge on the blade but it'll be great to harvest enough buck to bring it to the grind stone every season. The only negative I have on this knife is NOT about the knife itself but as others have mentioned, the snap on the sheath won't snap because it's too tight over the guard that the first time you try and snap it the snap opens too loose for the grommet, that it'll never snap again, even if you do get the knife jammed in the sheath enough to give the snap a little room, it still won't close because it will be weakened from trying to snap it. Not really ideal when you're out in the woods relying a great deal on the knife, you may reach for it only to grab air because it fell out of a faulty sheath. Otherwise, I love the knife. Gonna get a similar Gil Hibben collectible next!
