Product Description
This highly detailed replica looks just like an authentic German stick grenade. Just like the original, the head reads, "VOR GEBRAUCH SPRENGKAPSEL EINSETZEN" (in English, "Before use, insert detonator"). It's constructed from real metal parts and has a hollow wooden handle with a pull cord and bead. This is not an actual explosive device. Add this historical war reproduction to your collection today!
This item exceeded my expectations. I love history and when it comes to WWII this is a must have as a collector! Only regrets I have is not buying this sooner as well as not buying 2! Budk service is fast and everything was packaged well!! Thank you!

Very nice replica
Bought two and I am very pleased. One did have an issue with the finish on the wood, but it's an easy fix. Comes very well packed in a nice box. A must have for any collector.

German Handgrenades
My grenades just arrived . We are having the worst ice storm we have had on 50 years here in North Texas and the Post Office still delivered them. They are just what I was looking for to add to my War Room. I fly RC airplanes and I have a room full of warbirds hanging from the ceiling. These will look good on my book shelves. Thanks again BudK.

Looks and feels real
Excellent! Professionally done. I recommend it. As retired Navy EOD I respect quality in replicas.

good replica
I got two of these grenades and I put them in my German World War 1 collection. People who viewed them thought that they were real. I didn't tell them no different.Great product for reenacters and collectors.

Excellent Value
This German potato masher grenade is an excellent value. It is detailed and weighted to feel and look like the original, even down to the cord and bead in the handle. I initially ordered them to use as reenactment grenades, but so many others liked them that I had to order some for them.

Detatched
I bought two and both came with the tops barely attached. Once we glued them on they look amazing but I wouldn’t be too rough with them.

GREAT price / low quality
This grenade is a replica and meant to sit on your shelf as such. Dont throw it, dont bash with it and dont 'use" it.... it is NOT sturdy like the real thing.
That being said, its a great piece for the price and LOOKS and FEELS very real.
4 STARS (-1 for being fragile).

Im now on the list
Either you have an anger issue in packing or im now on a list. This was the last one I needed to finish my collection.Thank goodness this was on bogo sale so I had 2.One was completely openend and taken apart. The box it came in wasn't even closed. It looked like it was well glued before something happened to it.The thing was ratteling and you could tell something was wrong.everything else in the main box was fine, and unopened.I will be glueing everything back together tonight.Pretty funny everything just clinked out into my hands. So either control your packing dept.or, everyone be careful when having grenades shipped to the house. The other one was really nice and now I have a funny story on my completion of my collection.

Could be better
some how in shipping the head fell off so i had fun super gluing that back on and then it fell on the floor from a average height table and broke in a different spot so i had to glue again but looks nice just keep away from children because its fragile. over all really nice but like i said be care full with it.

Problems right out of the box
Made in China specials. I bought two. They look good, but right out of the box, the handle was falling off of one. On the other, the can was loose where it is crimped on to the base and leaking sand. The wood handles are glued on to the metal cans and there isn't a good bond. The pull cord is not fastened inside of the handle, so when you pull out the ceramic bead the cord just comes off. It's going to take some work to get these ready for WWII reenacting.

Good for price
Maybe I got a bad one but I received mine yesterday and the metal is loose on it. I think for the price it is fine but mine definitley has some issues. I will have to glue mine together.

Great but broken
I ordered two stielhandgranate, one for me and one as a gift. The replica it' self is nice however the heads are not fitted to the wood and thus required superglue. ALSO the heads are not meant to come off, there is no internal replica detonator!

German Potato Masher Grenade
Mine also arrived with the head separated from the handle - where's the quality control? Gluing it back on will not be easy.
Response: Thank you for informing us of this issue, we are checking our stock to make sure this does not happen again.

AWFUL PIECES OF FECAL MATTER!
I give this product a zero! I ordered 2 grenades and both shipped in with the heads broken off! I glued them back together hoping they would be field worthy, but I was dead wrong. One of these pieces of fecal matter only survived 3 light throws before breaking, while the other broke after 10 light (short) throws and one heavy (long) throw. Not only that but if/when you chip the paint, there is an ugly pink under the main paint, and just ruins the look instantly. These DO NOT HAVE SCREW ON HEADS like the originals did, instead they were cheaply and terribly glued on! Also notice that there are no screws holding the metal in where the head is SUPPOSED to screw in, so this means that it can break/come apart in 2 places! On another note, the string holding the "porcelain" ball is extremely short and too thick, making them a bit of a hassle to get out, especially if you only have 1 second or less to do so! The ball seems to be made out of wood or a crappie plastic, and does not even fall out (just enough to be able to pull it out) when you unscrew the cap! These cheaply made pieces of crap are to be used ONLY FOR DISPLAY! I am a reenactor, and these would NEVER BE FIELD WORTHY, and probably not even worthy to be touched, for it would probably break! SAVE YOUR MONEY and buy a higher quality one like those found at Hessen Antique!

Poorly made
Head was off when it can shipped, the top and handle seemed glued and misaligned by a lot, bottom cap falls off easily, bought it as part of my german uniform for airsoft(not to throw it) and it can't even handle being on my belt without falling apart
